Tis the season

We are living in a winter wonderland!
I like snow much more more than cold, dreary, rainy winters. All of the Christmas shopping is done, the house is decorated, and now I'm just trying to find the spirit of the season. After participating in my first Black Friday, I feel like all of the Christmas has been drained right out of me. I had to work for 11 hours ( from 2:45 am to 1:30 pm) and I had to provide excellent service and witty conversation that whole time. Needless to say I was a zombie by the end of the day. I gave my 2 weeks yesterday and will part ways with Kohls on the 23rd of this month. I am goign to miss my fellow associates, and may go back and help for back to school, but I'm sure glad that I will be home for the most part.
Travis started a new position at work this week and is still adjusting. The hours are great!!! No more rotating shifts. But, he is a working leader now and some of his co-workers have been harassing him a bit. He knew that this would happen, and was ready for it, so we will see how long he can hang in there.
Roslyn has discovered a great love for the outdoor winter activities and is becoming a pro at sledding. She has a very positive attitude (most of the time) and teaches me sooooo much, with her great Zest for life.
I hope everyone enjoys this holiday season as I try daily to get back some of the REAL spirit of the season. HAPPY HOLIDAYS :)

Drama

Why is it some people refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. My brother is 26 yrs old and can't seem to grasp the thought of being a productive member of society. My sister and I had to go to my parents this morning and break up a " love fest" that was going on.
My littlest brother finally moved out of my house and whacked up ( for a short time ) with a young lady that he worked with. Needless to say, things didn't really work out and he moved back home with my parents. This all took place about 3 days ago. Enter ex/ on again / off again girlfriend, who can't stop lovin' my bro. While my parents are out of town they (my brother and his woman) decided to turn the house into their own little pleasure palace. GROSS! My sister was not about to let him disrespect our parents and get away with it, so she headed out to "clean house", and took me as back up. I just want to state for the record I am horrible back up :)
After a high drama confrontation, tears, cursing, and a couple phone calls the situation was resolved. Whatever! I am convinced that my brother greatly enjoyed the whole debacle and does not feel an ounce of remorse. We will have to wait and see what my parents decide to do about their latest boomerang child if they decide to do anything at all. Most of the time, it seems, they defend him and feel sorry for him. Which tends to make others in the family, shall we say, mildly upset.
Just to play Devils Advocate. I don't know how I would react if my sweet little girl were to act out in like fashion. I have a hard time condemning my parents when my child is only 4 and I can't even imagine her acting like my brother. I think it's easy for some people to judge how my parents should handle the situation, and yes it is very frustrating, but until I have been in that predicament I choose to support them in their decisions on how they handle things with my brother. I will tell my brother though, that in my opinion he needs to do better and be better!

What's wrong with me :)

I can never seem to find time to update this blog and I have no idea why. I will make an end of the summer resolution to do better and write more often. There I've said it and it's out there, so I better follow through.

Was summer way too short for anyone else? I guess we have to have some years like that to instill a sense of gratitude for the other, better years.

Roslyn starts Pre-school on Thursday, with Miss Cindy, and she is pretty excited. Of course she is kind of excited about everything these days and never stops talking. The only time our house is chatter free is when she passes out from exhaustion. She does make us laugh all of the time, so it is worth it.

I have had a summer job working at Kohls department store, which I enjoy greatly. I am currently only working 2 days a week, which is just about perfect. I am so lucky that I have my family living close to me and that my mother has so graciously volenteered to take care of Ros when I have to work. Travis is also in the process of switching things up in the work force, by starting a business in the financial needs arena. It is a great company that has been around for over 30 years and what they do for families in the way of financial plans astounds me. I am still learning more about it, but I have seen great things and met some wonderful people.

I hope everyone enjoys thier Labor Day weekend and has a great start to the new school year!!!

Poo-poo weather

What to do when the weather won't co-operate, this is every mothers question. Cabin Fever is a common problem for those of us with little children. The Tysz family answer is Gymnastics and Pre-PreSchool. Roslyn started Gymnastics about 6 weeks ago and is totally in love with it! She is also taking part in, something we like to call, Pre-Preschool every Friday morning. A lady from church who teaches preschool offered to have a class for the littel children that don't get out as much. Roslyn is turning into quite the social butterfly.

As for us old folks, Travis fractured his Tibia and tore his ACL after a fall at work (Awesome)! He finds that his leg brace and crutches are a hinderance, Duh!

I started a part time job teaching Safe-Sitter classes at the Hospital. It's only 2 days a month, but it gives me a little extra money and something different to do. I really like it!

We stiil have our roomates and it looks like they will be staying on a bit longer (ha-ha-ha)!
